Acclaimed throughout the United States, Canada, South America and Europe, bass-baritone Timothy Jones is an enthusiastic champion of contemporary works and composers, and is equally at home on the opera and concert stage as he is in the more intimate settings of chamber music and solo recital. His eagerly anticipated performances combine intelligent musicianship, commanding vocal technique and a unique ability to connect with audiences. His theatricality was recently praised as he “relished the dramatic possibilities of the songs' text and music as much with facial expressions and body language as with vocal inflections.” Performance highlights include engagements with the Cleveland Orchestra, Utah Symphony, Houston Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Alabama Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Ars Lyrica Houston, and the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, as well as leading roles with the Connecticut Opera, Mobile Opera, Opera Birmingham, and Opera Pacific. In the Spring of 2012, bass-baritone Timothy Jones will appear with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Saginaw Bay Orchestra and Ars Lyrica of Houston, Texas. He recently performed the role of Friar Lawrence with the San Antonio Lyric Opera, appeared with the Cheyenne Symphony, Victoria Symphony, and at Smith College in Massachusetts.
